The origins of CODA Technologies date back to March 1985. Originally founded as Continuum Electronics, an independent design and engineering consultancy, it was established by Erich Lauchil, B.D. Dale and Loring Peterson, formerly of the engineering and R&D staff at Threshold Corporation, then a leading maker of high-performance solid-state audio electronics.

In 1989 Continuum became CODA Technologies, Inc. and began producing its own line of state-of-the-art products. Its first flagship was the FET Preamplifier 01; the design reached its peak with the System 100 and System 200 amplifiers, which use separate chassis for the power supply stages (voltage and current), ensuring superior isolation between the two circuits.

CODA is a “mission driven” organisation, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art audio reproduction technology. It also provides research, development and OEM support to other well-known high-end audio manufacturers, and is one of the few companies in the world that designs and builds all of its own products.

CODA products are built with an abundance of top-quality components and materials. Their circuit design, cutting-edge in its results, remains wisely conservative in its means: given the choice between a measurable gain of little sonic relevance and greater stability, safety or longevity, the latter is chosen every time.

The unconditional stability of the power amplifiers and their considerable current delivery let them drive the most difficult loads with ease, while the electrical and mechanical robustness of the whole design allows worry-free operation even in the most demanding conditions. For their neutrality and consistency, CODA components are also a reference for evaluating loudspeakers and other components.
